Mission Essential Solutions
James Murphy is the Owner and President of Mission Essential Solutions (MES), the consulting company he started in 2013. James is a retired Marine Helicopter pilot with expertise in government continuity planning and operations. During his time as a Marine, he gained expert knowledge on how our country plans to respond to a wide array of catastrophic events, both man-made and natural. However, as a government Program Manager, James was unaware of many commercially available technologies that could have been used to support his programs.
When he retired from the Marines, James started Mission Essential Solutions to find the existing technologies needed to solve real-world operational challenges and bring them to the government programs that need them. Today, as a Business Development Consultant, James uses his expertise and relationships in hard-to-penetrate government program offices to help technology companies succeed with new government and commercial customers, who are often unaware of their products.
As an active Senior Continuity Consultant, James has provided consulting services related to continuity programs, enterprise risk management, and disaster planning at the Department of Energy (DOE), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Federal Reserve Board (FRB), Federal Deposit Insurance Agency (FDIC), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Architect of the Capitol (AOC), American Public Power Association (APPA), and the White House Military Office (WHMO). Through Mission Essential Solutions, he has also provided BD consulting support to several technology companies and startups.
